Haircut

Haircut shows a new cut on your own photo before you ask for it at the salon. Add a photo of yourself and choose a Cut, such as Pixie, Bob, Lob, Shag, Wolf cut, Braids or Locs. Petalface follows your own hair texture and hairline, and keeps your face, your skin and the light of the photo as they are.

What it is good for

It is for the moment before a change you cannot undo. Going from long hair to a Bob or a Pixie is hard to picture on your own face, and so is a fringe: try a Curtain fringe and a Blunt fringe on the same photo and compare them. See Braids or Locs on you before you spend hours on them, or keep a picture to show your stylist.

Tips for your photo

Face the camera, or turn slightly, and hold the phone at arm's length so all of your hair, down to its ends, and your shoulders are in the frame. Wear your hair down and loose, not tied back or pinned up. Soft daylight from a window shows its texture best. Skip filters and beauty modes. A cut needs your hair in the photo: if you wear a hijab, it stays on as it is.

What it does not do

It makes a picture, a preview to look at before you go to the salon. It keeps your face and features, your skin and its depth, the light and the background, and follows your own hair texture and hairline. It never reshapes your face or changes your skin. A cut that falls past the shoulders, such as Long layers, Braids or Locs, may show more length than your hair has now. A real cut depends on your hair and on who cuts it, so treat the picture as an idea, not a promise. It names no brand and gives no hair-care advice.

Questions and answers

More answers in Help
How can I see what a haircut would look like on me?

Add a photo of yourself with your hair down and choose a Cut. Petalface gives you that cut on your own photo, following your hair texture and hairline.

Which haircut suits my face?

Haircut does not choose one for you: it shows the cuts you pick on your own photo. Try a Pixie, a Bob and a Lob on the same photo and compare them.

Can I try a fringe before I cut one?

Yes. Choose Curtain fringe for a fringe parted in the middle that sweeps to each side, or Blunt fringe for a full, straight one at the brows, and see it on your own photo first.

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan makes 3 designs a day, each with a watermark, and Pro makes up to 50 a day without it. Each cut you try counts as one design.

Haircut: try it on your photo

Take a photo of your face or your hand, then try a look on it. Your designs follow you between phone and computer.
