Lashes

Lashes is the Petalface tool for trying a lash look before you buy false lashes or book extensions. Upload a selfie, choose a style such as Natural, Doll, Cat eye or Dramatic, and see it on your own upper lashes. Your eyelids, eye shape, face and skin stay exactly as they are in your photo.

What it is good for

Lash extensions and false lashes are hard to judge from a salon menu or a photo of someone else's eyes. A style that opens up round eyes can look heavy on hooded eyes, and Cat eye lashes sit differently on monolid eyes. Here you see each style on your own eyes before you book a lash appointment or buy strip lashes for a wedding or a night out. Compare Natural with Wispy for every day, or Doll with Dramatic for an event, and take the picture you like to your lash artist.

Tips for your photo

Face a window in daylight and look straight into the camera with your eyes open, so your lash line shows clearly. Keep your hair away from your eyes. Take off your glasses and turn off filters and beauty modes, which blur fine lashes. Bare lashes without mascara, extensions or strip lashes show the change best. A hijab or headscarf can stay on: it is kept as it is.

What it does not do

It shows a preview on your photo, not a promise. It changes only your upper lashes and keeps your eyelids, eye shape, face, skin, expression, clothes, light and background as they are, so it never reshapes your eyes or changes your skin. Real lashes turn out differently with your own natural lashes, the products and the person who applies them, so use the picture as a guide. It names no brands and gives no advice on lash glue, allergies or eye health.

Questions and answers

More answers in Help
Is it free to try?

Yes. The free plan makes 3 designs a day in all, with any tool, each with a small watermark. Pro raises that to 50 designs a day and removes the watermark. Each lash style you try counts as one design.

Can I see how lash extensions would look on me?

Yes, as a preview. Styles such as Wispy, Cat eye and Dramatic show fuller, longer lashes on your own eyes, so you can choose a shape before your appointment. The real set depends on your natural lashes and on your lash artist.

Does it work on hooded or monolid eyes?

Yes. It keeps your eyelids and the shape of your eyes exactly as they are in your photo, so you see how a style such as Doll or Cat eye sits on your own eyes.

Does it add eyeliner or change my lower lashes?

No. It changes only your upper lashes, following your own lash line, and adds no eyeliner or eyeshadow.
