Nails
Nails shows a manicure on a photo of your own hand before you book one. Add a photo of your hand and choose a Nail shape, from Round to Stiletto, a Design such as French, Chrome or Marble, and a Colour. Only your nails change: your hand, skin, rings and light stay as they are.

What it is good for
It is for the moment before a salon appointment, or before you paint your own nails. A colour chart or someone else's hand says little about how a design looks on your own fingers and skin. See whether short everyday Round nails in Red suit you, compare Almond and Coffin before you ask for extensions, or choose between a French manicure and Gold Glitter before a wedding or a night out.
Tips for your photo
Lay your hand flat on a plain table, palm down, with your fingers spread so every nail shows in full, and take the photo from above at arm's length. Daylight from a window, or bright, even light indoors, shows a colour closest to how it looks in person. Bare nails give the clearest result, so take off old polish first if you can. Push your sleeve back from your wrist, and skip filters and beauty modes: they change your skin tone.
What it does not do
It makes a picture, a preview to try before the salon or your own polish. It keeps your hand, fingers and skin tone, your rings, the pose, the light and the background, and changes only your nails: their shape, length, design and colour. A long shape such as Coffin shows length your own nails may not have yet. Real nails depend on your own nails and who does them, and a colour can look different on screen and in the bottle. It names no brand and gives no skin, allergy or medical advice.
Questions and answers
More answers in HelpCan I try nail designs on my own hand?
Yes. Add a photo of your hand, choose a Nail shape, a Design and a Colour, and Petalface shows the manicure on your own nails, keeping the rest of your photo as it is.
Which nail shape suits my hands?
Nails does not choose one for you: it shows the shapes you pick on your own hand. Try Oval and Squoval on the same photo, or Almond and Coffin for longer nails, and compare them.
Can I see long nails if mine are short?
Yes. A long shape such as Coffin or Stiletto shows longer nails on your photo. Real nails that long need time to grow, or extensions at a salon.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan makes 3 designs a day, each with a watermark, and Pro makes up to 50 a day without it. Each manicure you try counts as one design.
